Hyperion, jeden z pôvodných titánov v gréckej mytológii, splodil tri deti, ktoré sa stali svetlami neba – Hélios (Slnko), Seléné (Mesiac) a Éós (Úsvit). Jeho meno v starovekej gréčtine možno vyložiť ako „ten, ktorý sa díva zhora“, alebo „ten, ktorý smeruje nahor“.
Svetelná inštalácia Hyperion je pokračovaním série festivalových inštalácií viditeľných zo širokého okolia mesta Žilina, ktoré sa stali súčasťou už piatich uplynulých realizácií festivalu ŽIŽA. Svetelné lúče Hyperionu presvetlia tento rok nočnú oblohu z Námestia Andreja Hlinku – zo zeme smerom k nebu aj z oblohy do jedného bodu mestského priestoru.

Hyperion, one of the original Titans in Greek mythology, fathered three children who became the lights of the heavens – Helios (Sun), Selene (Moon) and Eos (Dawn). In ancient Greek his name can be interpreted as “he who looks down from above” or “he who looks upwards”.
