Stena môže pôsobiť ako koniec, no aj tá najpevnejšia v sebe nesie nejakú slabosť – drobnú vadu, trhlinu cez ktorú môže preniknúť svetlo. A možno práve cez tieto trhliny prechádza premena. To, čo spočiatku vyzerá ako narušenie pevného a daného sa môže stať vstupným bodom pre svetlo, s ktorým prichádza zmena. Okamih zlomu.
Inštalácia “Trhlina” pracuje s jednoduchým princípom deformácie svetla skrz materiál – efekt, ktorý bol, je a bude využívaný pre krásu svojej jednoduchosti. Inštalácia poskytuje pozorovateľovi možnosť návratu k mýtickému chápaniu svetla ako sily, ktorá prestupuje tmou a hmotou.
No trhlina nemusí byť len fyzická, ale aj vnútorná. V človeku, v čase, v priestore. “Vo všetkom sa objavujú trhliny, práve cez ne preniká svetlo.” Leonard Cohen.
A wall may seem like a termination, but even the strongest wall has some weakness — a small flaw, a crack through which light can penetrate. And perhaps it is through these cracks that transformation occurs. What initially appears to be a disruption of the solid and the given can become an entry point for light, bringing change. A moment of rupture.
The installation „Trhlina“ (Crack) works with the simple principle of light deformation through material – an effect that has been, is, and will continue to be used for the beauty of its simplicity. The installation offers the observer the opportunity to return to the mythical understanding of light as a force that penetrates darkness and matter.
But a crack does not have to be only physical, it can also be internal. In a person, in time, in space. „There is a crack in everything, that’s how light gets in.“ Leonard Cohen.
Tomáš Morávek, CZ
Tomáš Morávek (1981) objavil povolanie svetelného dizajnéra vďaka tanečnému konzervatóriu Duncan Center v Prahe, kde pracoval ako technik. Od tohto momentu sa čoraz viac zaujímal o súčasný tanec, vizuálne umenie a svetelný dizajn scénických umení. Fascinuje ho možnosť vytvárania špecifických atmosfér alebo stavania celého interiéru na scéne výhradne prostredníctvom osvetlenia. Skúsenosti získal v priebehu svojej kariéry nielen v pražských divadlách, ale aj spoluprácou s Divadlom bratov Formanovcov, s ktorými precestoval Francúzsko, realizáciou projektov so študentmi Amsterdam University of Arts v Holandsku, spoluprácou s režisérkou Veselkou Kunchevovou a Petarom Todorovom v Bulharsku, v rámci festivalov L1 v Maďarsku, spoluprácou s priestorom Stanica Žilina – Záriečie, kde sa stretol aj so svojím dlhoročným spolupracovníkom Jarom Viňarským.
Tomáš Morávek (1981) discovered the profession of lighting design thanks to the Duncan Center Dance Conservatory in Prague, where he worked as a technician. From that moment on, he became increasingly interested in contemporary dance, visual arts and lighting design for the performing arts. He is fascinated by the possibility of creating specific atmospheres or building an entire interior on stage solely through lighting. During his career, he has gained experience not only in Prague theatres, but also by collaborating with the Forman Brothers, with whom he travelled through France, by realising projects with students of the Amsterdam University of Arts in the Netherlands, by collaborating with director Veselka Kuncheva and Petaro Todorov in Bulgaria, within the L1 festivals in Hungary, and by collaboration with the Stanica Žilina – Záriečie space, where he also met his long-time collaborator Jaro Viňarský.
