Svetelné a multižánrové inštalácie tohto ročníka doplní aj tentokrát široká varieta sprievodného programu, ktorej vyvrcholením bude audio-vizuálne predstavenie
V E K T R O S K O P △ v Evanjelickom kostole (ul. Martina Rázusa). Pokračujúc v téme multižánrovosti predstaví komponované dielo živej hudby a podmanivých svetelných a vizuálnych technológií.
Priestor sme vytvorili i pre deti vo veku od 8 do 12 rokov. Pod vedením street-art umelca, grafika a ilustrátora Petra “Pyppa” Dlhopolčeka premenia prostredníctvom streetartových techník farby, tvary, spreje a UV svetlo na netradičný zážitok.
Výsledné diela budú počas festivalu vystavené v ateliéri Rosenfeldovho paláca.
Dramaturgia sprievodného programu sa v tomto ročníku výrazne zamerala taktiež na výstavy, ktoré budú môcť návštevníci zhliadnuť v rôznych budovách aj exteriéroch žilinského centra. Od Považskej galérie umenia, cez PASÁ:Ž až po Burianovu vežu, ktorá poskytne večerný pohľad z vtáčej perspektívy na jedinečnú expozíciu rozsvietených diel tohto ročníka.

Vďaka Turistickej informačnej kancelárii mesta Žilina festival ŽIŽA ožije aj z výšky. Príďte si vychutnať výhľad zo 46 metrov vysokej renesančnej zvonice. Práve vďaka svojej výške patrí Burianova veža právom medzi najkrajšie pamiatky mesta Žilina. Nachádza sa hneď vedľa Katedrály Najsvätejšej Trojice, s ktorou spoločne tvoria neoficiálny symbol mesta Žilina.
Vstup je bezplatný a bez nutnosti predošlej registrácie. Pozor, kapacita jednotlivých skupín je obmedzená!

Thanks to the Tourist Information Office of the City of Žilina, the ŽIŽA festival will also come to life from above. Come and enjoy the view from the 46-meter-high Renaissance bell tower. Thanks to its height, Burian’s Tower is rightfully one of the iconic, most beautiful monuments in the city of Žilina. It is located right next to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, with which it forms the unofficial symbol of the city of Žilina.
Admission is free and without the need for prior registration. Please note that the capacity of individual groups is limited!

V E K T R O S K O P △ je oslavou audiovizuálnej korelácie, stretnutím trendsetterov a archeológov médií.
Podmanivý umelecký dialóg tvorcov hudobných a vizuálnych projektov prináša nové a neočakávané posolstvá. Živá hudba, robotická ruka hrajúca na laserový lúč, programované mobilné objekty, čistá fyzická improvizácia, lasery aj lúče „obyčajného“ svetla, akustická i elektronická hudba – to všetko je V E K T R O S K O P △. Témou audio-vizuálneho predstavenia je hra s nenulovým súčtom, ktorú autorstvo chápe v zmysle teórie hier ako symbiotický vzťah umelcov, publika, priestoru, zvuku a svetla.
V komponovanom večere vystúpia Beata Hlavenková, Leoš Hort (HRTL), Jan Burian ml. a David Vrbík.

V E K T R O S K O P △ is a celebration of audiovisual correlation, a meeting of trendsetters and media archaeologists.
A captivating artistic dialogue between creators of musical and visual projects brings new and unexpected messages. Live music, a robotic hand playing a laser beam, programmed mobile objects, pure physical improvisation, lasers and beams of „ordinary“ light, acoustic and electronic music – all of this is V E K T R O S K O P △. The theme of the audio-visual performance is a non-zero-sum game, which the authors understand in the sense of the game theory as a symbiotic relationship between artists, audience, space, sound and light.
The composed evening will feature performances by Beata Hlavenková, Leoš Hort (HRTL), Jan Burian Jr. and David Vrbík.

Streetart workshop pre deti

Pozývame deti vo veku 8 až 12 rokov na kreatívny workshop plný farieb, experimentov a nápadov.
Pod vedením street-art umelca, grafika a ilustrátora Petra “Pyppa” Dlhopolčeka premeníme spoločne farby, tvary, spreje a UV svetlo na netradičný zážitok. V kreatívnom prostredí si vyskúšame rôzne streetartové techniky – maľovanie klasickými aj UV sprejmi, či akrylovými fixami na papier – a to všetko aj za pomoci šablón.
Výsledné diela malých-veľkých umelcov budú po skončení workshopu krátkodobo vystavené v ateliéri Rosenfeldovho paláca. Bude ich možné zhliadnuť v priebehu ŽIŽA festivalu v termíne od 19. do 20. 9., denne od 19:00 do 23:00.
Pozor, kapacita workshopu je obmedzená (max. 10 účastníkov). Rezervujte si svoje miesto.

Street art workshop for children

We invite children aged 8 to 12 to a creative workshop full of colors, experiments and ideas. Under the leadership of street-art artist, graphic designer and illustrator Peter “Pyppo” Dlhopolček, we will transform colors, shapes, sprays and UV light into an unconventional experience. In a creative environment, we will try out various street art techniques – painting with classic and UV sprays, or acrylic markers on paper – and all this with the help of stencils.
The resulting works of our small artists will be exhibited for a short time in the Rosenfeld Palace studio after the workshop. Works will be exhibited in the studio during the ŽIŽA festival from 19 to 20 September, daily from 19:00 to 23:00.
Please note that the workshop capacity is limited (max. 10 participants). Reserve your place!

ŽIŽA festival sa každoročne pokúša prostredníctvom zaujímavých svetelných a audio-vizuálnych inštalácií v rámci verejného priestoru ukázať mesto a jeho zákutia v novom svetle. Tento rok sa okrem tohto cieľa pokúsime predstaviť obyvateľom mesta nielen jeho súčasnú podobu z nových uhlov pohľadu, ale aj to aké zmeny prinesie jeho budúcnosť.
Exteriérová výstava pod kuratelou Útvaru hlavného architekta mesta predstaví pripravované projekty, ktoré budú v blízkej budúcnosti formovať verejný priestor, historické centrum či dopravu v meste. Projekty návštevníkom priblížia návrhy bezpečných ulíc, obnovy Mestskej pamiatkovej rezervácie, ale budete môcť zhliadnuť aj výsledky architektonických súťaží či študentské vízie mesta.
Výstava je jedným z nástrojov otvorenej komunikácie mesta s verejnosťou. Ukazuje, že mestské plánovanie môže byť transparentné, odborné a zároveň inkluzívne a môže tak viesť k lepšiemu prostrediu a životu v ňom.

Every year, the ŽIŽA festival tries to show the city and its corners in a new light through interesting light and audio-visual installations within the public space. This year, in addition to this goal, we will try to present the city’s residents not only the current appearance of the city from new perspectives, but also what changes its future will bring.
The exterior exhibition, curated by the Department of the Chief Architect of the City, will present upcoming projects that will shape public space, the historical center, or transportation in the city in the near future. The projects will introduce visitors to safe street designs, the restoration of the City Monument Reserve, but also the results of architectural competitions and student visions of the city.
The exhibition is one of the tools of open communication between the city and the public. It shows that urban planning can be transparent, professional and inclusive at the same time, and can thus lead to a better environment and life within it.

Výstava detských prác, ktorá a predstavuje diela, ilustrujúce akým spôsobom vnímajú verejný priestor a podobu mesta deti. Expozícia nadväzuje na exteriérovú výstavu “Čo nového, Žilina?” a prináša inšpiratívny a autentický komentár k tomu ako možno budovať a tvoriť mesto pre všetkých – vrátane jeho najmladších obyvateľov.

The exhibition of children’s works illustrates how children perceive public space and the appearance of the city. The display of young artists follows the exterior exhibition „What’s new, Žilina?“ and brings an inspiring and authentic commentary on how a city can be built and created for everyone – including its youngest residents.

Výstava: Objekt z výstavy Scrapscape

V termíne od 9.8. do 5.9.2025 uvádza PASÁ:Ž (Platforma architektúry a mestského plánovania) výstavu s názvom Scrapscape, ktorej autorom je jeden z umelcov tohto ročníka ŽIŽA festivalu Ján Gašparovič. Časť výstavy po jej ukončení prenášame v rámci festivalových dní do exteriéru pasáže, aby sme vám predstavili tzv. srapscape – miesto, kde hrdza nahradila rast a plasty nahradili rastliny. Postapokalyptická krajina, v ktorej sa prežitie mení na boj zmyslov. Nie je to vízia budúcnosti, ale výsek reality „po tom“ – po kolapse systémov, po ekologickom a psychickom vyčerpaní ľudstva a prostredia. Namiesto odpovedí ponúka Scrapscape skúsenosť krajiny bez útechy, bez nádeje a bez ilúzie návratu. Camera obscura nášho vedomia zaznamenáva trosky a skúma vlastné hranice. Čo zostáva, keď jazyk, príroda aj technológie zlyhajú? Výstava neponúka riešenia, iba možnú verziu, ako sa končí svet: nie treskom, ale vytrvalým bzučaním.

From 9.8. to 5.9.2025, PASÁ:Ž (Platform of Architecture and Urban Planning) presents an exhibition called Scrapscape, the author of which is one of the artists of this year’s ŽIŽA festival Ján Gašparovič. After its conclusion, we will transfer part of the exhibition to the exterior of the passage during the festival days to present to you the so-called “scrapscape” – a place where rust has replaced growth and plastics have replaced plants. A post-apocalyptic landscape in which survival turns into a battle of the senses. It is not a vision of the future, but a slice of reality „after“ – after the collapse of systems, after the ecological and psychological exhaustion of humanity and the environment. Instead of answers, Scrapscape offers the experience of a landscape without consolation, without hope and without the illusion of return. The camera obscura of our consciousness records the ruins and explores its own boundaries. What remains when language, nature and technology fail? The exhibition does not offer solutions, only a possible version of how the world ends: not with a bang, but with a persistent hum.

Považská galéria umenia Žilina

V rámci Považskej galérie umenia môžu návštevníci festivalu zhliadnuť okrem festivalovej inštalácie Terezy Barabash taktiež aktuálne expozície v galerijných priestoroch – od slovenského expresionizmu až po súčasné umenie.
Vincentov kabinet ponúka sto diel slovenského maliara, grafika a ilustrátora Vincenta Hložníka zo zbierok troch galérií. Expozícia “Dušan Mravec / Krajiny vnútri nás” prináša nový pohľad na zátišie a hyperrealizmus. Návrhy pre reklamné kampane z rokov 1959–1967 predstavuje výstava “Pino Pascali / Umenie cez prizmu reklamy”. Na aktuálne spoločenské témy reaguje “Prvé múzeum intermédií III”, ktoré sa venuje rodovým témam a telesnosti a inštalácia “Tero Abaffy / Návrat do divočiny”, ktorá prináša intímnu výpoveď o výnimočnosti identity založenej na ženskosti.

In addition to the festival installation by Tereza Barabash, festival visitors of the Považská art gallery can also see current exhibitions in the gallery spaces – from Slovak expressionism to contemporary art.
Vincent’s Cabinet offers a hundred works by the Slovak painter, graphic artist and illustrator Vincent Hložník from the collections of three galleries. The exhibition „Dušan Mravec / Landscapes within us“ brings a new perspective on still life and hyperrealism. Designs for advertising campaigns from 1959–1967 are introduced within the exhibition „Pino Pascali / Art through the prism of advertising“. The „First Museum of Intermedia III“, which is dedicated to gender issues and physicality, and the installation „Tero Abaffy / Return to the Wilderness“, which brings an intimate statement about the exceptionality of an identity based on femininity, respond to current social issues.
