Od objavenia ohňa používame svetlo, aby sme lepšie videli. Čo ak nám však práve svetlo bráni vidieť svet taký, aký v skutočnosti je? Čo ak práve svetlo dokáže našu realitu úplne zmeniť?
V sérii inštalácií bude môcť divák skúmať svet, ktorý sa javí inak, než v skutočnosti je. Precízna synchronizácia svetla, farieb a fyzického pohybu pomôžu návštevníkovi preniknúť do kúzelnej alternatívy reality, v ktorej veci nie sú vždy tým, čím sa zdajú byť.

Ever since the discovery of fire, we have used light to see better. But what if it is light itself that prevents us from seeing the world as it really is? What if it is light itself that has the power to completely transform our reality?
In a series of installations, visitors will be able to explore a world that appears different from what it really is. The precise synchronisation of light, colour and physical movement will help viewers delve into a magical alternative reality, in which things are not always what they seem.

Jakub Dvořák je študentom Fakulty elektrotechniky Českého vysokého učení technického (ČVUT) v Prahe. Vo svojej umeleckej tvorbe prepája záujem o svetlo a hudbu s technickými znalosťami a nadšením pre experiment. Výsledkom sú originálne inštalácie a diela navrhnuté na mieru, ktorých technické riešenie aj fungovanie má plne vo vlastných rukách. Svojim dielam často vdýchne vlastný „život“ prostredníctvom rôznych senzorov, vďaka ktorým môže divák s dielom priamo interagovať. Vytvára tak komplexný, samostatne sa chovajúci systém.
Úzko spolupracuje s Inštitútom intermédií pri Fakulte elektrotechniky ČVUT, kde našiel zázemie pre svoj výskum a experimentovanie. Toto prostredie mu umožňuje ďalej rozvíjať svoju tvorbu po umeleckej aj technickej stránke a spolupracovať s ďalšími študentmi a študentkami, ktorí zdieľajú rovnaké nadšenie pre prepojenie umenia a technológií.

Jakub Dvořák is a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague. In his artistic work, he combines his interest in light and music with his technical knowledge and enthusiasm for experiment. The result is a series of original installations and bespoke pieces, the technical design and operation of which he controls entirely himself. He often breathes his own ‘life’ into his works through various sensors, enabling the viewer to interact directly with the piece. In this way, he creates a complex, autonomous system.
He works closely with the Institute of Intermedia at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, where he has found a base for his research and experimentation. This environment enables him to further develop his work, both artistically and technically, and to collaborate with other students who share his enthusiasm for the intersection of art and technology.
